14 days of Fun, Free and Photo-Friendly activities for the kids these holidays.

Something a little bit different from photos tips this week. So many of you are Mums, so here's some inspiration for family days out that won't break the bank.

Get out there and have some fun in the winter sun -and don't forget your camera!

WEEK ONE

1 -Bike riding along the Surfers Paradise Esplanade. If you can't get your bikes there, there are rental available too www.getonyourbike.com.au

2- Visit the waterfalls at Mt Tamborine. There are many short walks to choose from www.discovertamborine.com.au/tamborine-bushwalks/

3 - Feed pelicans along the Broadwater near Charis Seafoods at Labrador (don't forget your bread scraps)!

4 - Try out a new park - MacIntosh Island, Broadwater Parklands, Pratten Park at Broadbeach or Palm Beach Parklands or Laguna park.

5 - Check out the Sensory Garden at Gold Coast Botanical Gardens at Ashmore. You can touch, smell, eat and feel all the plants and herbs and take bikes to explore the rest of the boardwalks.

6 - Feed the lorikeets at O'reillys. The drive up there is beautifully scenic and you can take a treetop walk and climb the observation tower if you're brave.

7 - Do the beach markets, Surfers, Broadbeach, Burleigh, Coolangatta etc. Check this website for dates http://www.artandcraft.com.au

WEEK TWO

8 - Go to the library. Borrow some books or DVDs and explore the information stations. There are 13 Libraries across the Gold Coast!

9 - Take a pretty valley drive out to the Currumbin Rock Pools and support the small local businesses along the way.

10 - Visit Hinze dam with your bikes, or canoes. It's all new and amazing!

11 - Have a sandcastle making competition or go fishing along the Tallebudgera Creek.

12 - Explore the walking tracks around Burleigh headland. Make a list of wildlife to spot and tick them off when found.

13 - Hunt for glow-worms at Natural Bridge through the Numinbah Valley. You can continue south along the main road and return back through Murwillumbah and onto the M1.

14 - Have a quiet backyard picnic (at night, rug up with hot chocs and spot shooting stars in the clear Winter sky)

There! I hope you got some ideas for keeping the kids entertained this School Holidays, and all for free! No need to have irritable fighting children glued to smart devices every day.

The Gold Coast is such a special place, and often we take it for granted. We are truly blessed to have such amazing facilities and natural wonders around us.

You're Welcome ;-)
